Orthopedic Surgery

CB SKIN TESTOsteoarthritis is probably the single most important orthopedic disease we see in our pets. Especially in dogs, but in cats to a lesser degree, there is often an underlying cause to this disease. Whether it is a developmental problem or a traumatic injury, surgery can be indicated as an important first step in managing this condition over your pet’s lifetime.

Fractures of the limbs can be one of the most painful and debilitating injuries to result from a traumatic incident. Surgery plays a critical role in stabilizing the broken bone so your pet is more comfortable and can begin to use the limb more quickly, allowing him or her to rehabilitate faster.

Post-operative x-ray of tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) – surgery performed on canine knee for a cranial cruciate ligament rupture or ACL tear.

Some of the common orthopedic problems we treat:

Cranial cruciate ligament tear – lateral suture or TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) surgery.

Hip dysplasia – medical management or FHO (femoral head and neck ostectomy) surgery.

Fractures of the long bones and joints.
Cancer of long bones and joints.
