Gastrointestinal Surgery

Gastrointestinal problems can become urgent and life-threatening, especially if blood supply is compromised as it is when the stomach is twisted (torsion or volvulus), or when the intestines are obstructed. While surgery is required to correct this problem, your pet’s successful recovery is also often dependent upon intensive care and monitoring post-operatively. The surgery and emergency departments work together to provide the care needed to recover your pet so we can return them to your care sooner.
